Increasing capacity of clinical placements for entry-level allied health and nursing, midwifery students by exploring clinical placement opportunities outside regular business hours

Funding acknowledgment CMW_2015 This project explored the advantages, disadvantages and factors that support the implementation of clinical placement opportunities for nursing, midwifery and allied health students outside of regular business hours (i.e. outside of 9:00am – 5:00pm). The project undertook mapping activities to determine current out-of-hours placement activity in the Northern Metropolitan CPN (now known as NorthWest Metro Workforce Network) and developed a 'how to' tool for organisations wishing to implement an out-of-hours model. Discussion Paper 2: maps out-of-hours clinical service delivery and placement activity for nursing, midwifery and allied health students across the Northern Metropolitan CPN. Also explores current supervision and placement coordination models.
