Our health and human services workforce is vital to the wellbeing of Victorians. It provides quality care and positive patient experiences in a range of settings. However Victoria’s health and human services workforce is facing substantial challenges into the future, including a growing and ageing population, increasing incidence of chronic disease, people’s changing expectations, rapid technological change and economic pressures. It is therefore imperative that we plan for the future health and human services workforce – to ultimately ensure the continued wellbeing of Victorians.
The first step to plan for the future health and human services workforce is to understand the existing workforce. To this end, Knowledge Bank: Victoria’s Health and Human Services Workforce Information Portal brings together a range of information about Victoria’s health and human services workforce. This information can be used by stakeholders for planning, research and evaluation.
