Engaging stakeholders in physiotherapy student placement in primary care practice
This project investigated patient and private practitioner perceptions of physiotherapy student placements and involvement within private practice as well as practitioner and student needs. Three online learning modules were also created to address perceived gaps in student preparedness for private practice focusing on business skills, a shoulder consultation and a knee consultation module. -

Enhancing Primary Care Connect clinical placements
This project enhanced Primary Care Connect's capacity to meet the multi-faceted adult learning needs of students undertaking regional and remote clinical placements. In particular, this project created a contemporary, integrated work environment that enabled students to confidently negotiate clinical placements in a manner that best optimised their learning experience, whilst maximising their capacity to undertake placement projects and/or provide holistic health outcomes for clients across Greater Shepparton and the Shires of Moira and Strathbogie. -

Enhancing the quality of optometry training within community health centres
This project increased the quality of optometry clinical teaching within community health settings by upgrading equipment and improving students' ability to use slit lamps effectively, enhancing their ability to detect and monitor ocular disease. -

This project established a multi-purpose education resource room equipped with technology to improve the quality of clinical placements and to build capacity to allow for increased clinical placement. -

Establishment of videoconferencing facilities to support education and networking across Bass Coast and South Gippsland general practices
This project established videoconferencing facilities to support education and networking across Bass Coast and South Gippsland general practices. The new facilities strengthed clinical learning environments within seven general practices, providing valuable interprofessional communication opportunities and improved time management. -

Expanding and strengthening capacity within general practice
This project developed the organisational capacity of GP clinics to deliver clinical placements to students by supporting the development of organisational systems and professional networks. The objectives were to quantify current and potential capacity, better understand the barriers to expanding clinical placements in general practice setting, to increase the number of undergraduate medical student placement opportunities (capacity) and to maintain and enhance the quality of the learning experience of students placed in general practices. -

Expanding clinical education
This project installed clinical training equipment in outer-suburbs primary care facilities to equip these sites as 'home bases' for students on placement in aged care, subacute, community and primary health services. Purchases included IT equipment to facilitate access to online learning that complements students’ clinical experiences. -

Exploring supports for clinical placements in Gippsland rural and regional health services
A steering group representing local education providers and rural health services was established to oversee this project, identifying that quality and capacity were key priorities for the Gippsland CPN. This project profiled factors associated with building clinical placement quality and capacity in rural and regional facilities that have the potential to strengthen the clinical learning environments and the capacity for clinical placements. -

Finding a space for students
This project facilitated the placement of students within the clinical services areas of the Inner East Melbourne Medicare Local (IEMML) by providing a dedicated space for them and promoting a quality learning environment. -

Gippsland Regional Advancing Clinical Education (GRACE) Program
This project established a CPN-wide supervision training framework that included novice supervision training that articulated into VET qualifications; along with train-the-trainer components. The project also developed an online database of supervision resources and sought to develop training opportunities in community health, mental health, Aboriginal health and aged care. -

Gippsland South Coast enhanced public/private interprofessional student capacity project
This project provided suitable accommodation and a learning space for undergraduate students from a range of health professions including medicine, nursing and allied health, to facilitate increased student placement capacity in shared arrangements between Bass Coast Regional Health (BCRH) and other ‘non-public acute’ organisations in expanded settings such as community health, home-based community care and aged care. The project piloted an innovative videoconferencing model of supervision and support for both student and clinical instructor utilising telemedicine principles as the platform. -

Grampians integrated clinical learning project - Stage 1
This project builds on the previous year’s SLE project to establish a Regional Integrated Clinical Learning Network continuing to increase simulation activity hours for professional entry students and postgraduate learners. -

Grampians integrated clinical learning project - Stage 3
This project engaged a project officer to introduce the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environments (BPCLE) Framework within expanded settings organisations in the Grampians Clinical Placement Network (CPN). The project included an initial mapping phase to determine current clinical placement activity levels and capacity in these organisations. -

Grampians integrated clinical learning project - Stage 4
This project expanded the number of users of an existing Grampians-Loddon Mallee eLearning platform. A supervision training program was developed and delivered via blended learning options that incorporate online and face-to-face components. The project is one of four integrated projects in the Grampians CPN and includes the development of vicportal.net.au -

Grampians student accommodation project
This project provided student accommodation and resources at nine rural clinical placement providers to increase the capacity and quality of clinical placements across all health professions in the Grampians Region. -

Hospital to community - H2Co placements
The Hospital to Community (H2Co) project was a Western Metropolitan (Melbourne West) student placement initiative, focusing on promoting clinical placements across non-acute health settings to better align student training with the evolving requirements of healthcare service delivery. This project provided an avenue for agencies to foster better relationships, develop companion resources and learning cultures and also incorporated the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environments (BPCLE) Framework. -

Hume CPN Mental Health Clinical Training Alliance
This project increased the capacity for mental health placements in the Hume CPN by engaging a range of new clinical placement sites outside of the acute mental health sector. Elements of the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environments (BPCLE) Framework were introduced at placement sites and online orientation materials were prepared to aid communication about organisational policies between placement sites and education providers and students. -

Hume CPN student accommodation, communication through connectivity and infrastructure (SACCI) program
Aims to support placement providers to facilitate increased clinical placement capacity negotiated in 2011, and to increase capacity for future placements across the HCPN, via improved connectivity, IT, accommodation options and other high priority infrastructure. -

Hume Region small rural health services student placement accommodation
This project increased Alexandra District Hospital's capacity to provide student placements and improve the quality of placements, whilst reducing the financial burden on students by providing onsite accommodation. -

Implementing a sustainable clinical supervision model
Supervisors were given an opportunity to attend Teaching on the Run (TOTR) Facilitator Training Programs and then deliver TOTR training to other clinicians in the Eastern Metropolitan CPN. Additionally, selected staff were also trained to deliver the Facilitator Training Program in future to ensure sustainability of outcomes. The project delivered targeted training to medical practitioners, the Aboriginal health sector and aged care sector to overcome previous underrepresentation of these groups in training programs in the CPN.
